Get in a canoe and get paddling

This is my buddy Danny, clearly having a good time. The photo (the other 20 shoddy pics I took are all on my Flickr account) was taken on the Civic Holiday, during a 10-person excursion on the Grand River. Big ups to Jake and Sasha for having the creative minds that decided this would be a good idea, even if they lacked the follow-through. I highly recommend this as a must-do activity prior to leaving Waterloo for good - to all you WLU folks. $29 a head for canoe rental and a ride back to your car from whatever location you end at. None too shabby for an afternoon of fun in the sun.

This has been a tremendous summer, but I do think I should've been outside for more of it. There's something about being outdoors that really does wonders for one's spirits. I presume it's science.

Maybe it's the lack of walls and ceilings. Nature is humbling, but it offers infinite space...no boundaries.
